Position Purpose
This position is responsible for providing technical analysis and support for electronic data interchange (EDI) interfaces and integrations with PLEXIS’ existing and future software products, which include healthcare transactions (HIPAA X12) and other proprietary interfaces. This position is also responsible for working collaboratively with other PLEXIS analysts, project managers, software developers, as well as clients and their trading partners, to review work products for appropriateness, completeness, and quality.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of PLEXIS software, integration tools, and technical processes.
- Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of claims processing industry practices and trends, especially in the areas affecting healthcare EDI.
- Operate as the lead technical support for PLEXIS EDI software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client system issues relating to PLEXIS EDI software.
- Assist clients with the installation, system maintenance, and operations of PLEXIS EDI software.
- Escalate software bugs or enhancements to PLEXIS Development with thorough issue descriptions.
- Provide timely follow-up and status updates to clients, as issues are processed and resolved.
- Demonstrate familiarity and expertise with EDI formats, transactions, standards, and databases. This would include HIPAA X12, flat file, XML, web services and other methods and formats commonly used in healthcare EDI transactions.
- Provide suggestions and approaches to improve PLEXIS EDI products in the areas of EDI data support, process flow, usability, flexibility, interoperability with PLEXIS EDI and other vendor products and overall reliability.
- Perform ongoing research and knowledge updates regarding X12 transaction sets and electronic systems interface approaches and methodology.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in X12 and HIPAA transaction sets.
- Knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) desirable but not required.
- Deadline driven accountability and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the drive to ensure customer satisfaction with each interaction.
- Strong analytical aptitude and a desire to find solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Capability of dialing or otherwise using a telephone to place and receive telephone calls.

- Willingness and capacity to sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time.
- Capacity to pick up, leaf through and read books and files and other materials.
- Willingness and ability to maintain regular attendance for normally scheduled hours, to work overtime and to be flexible to work other shifts as necessary (i.e., potential weekend schedule).
