Software Developer - AI Dept.

Location: Medford, OR

PLEXIS Healthcare Systems, Inc., a progressive software development company in Medford, OR, is expanding its innovation footprint through our AI Special Ops team — a small, high-impact group focused on experimenting with emerging technologies and building next-generation AI-enabled products.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a startup-like environment within an established healthcare technology company. You’ll help design and deliver intelligent, user-centered software that supports our mission to transform how organizations manage health, benefits, and wellness through data and automation.

This position requires a minimum of 3 days a week working in the office; therefore, you must be local to the Southern Oregon area.

Position Purpose

PLEXIS is looking for a Full-Stack Developer who excels in front-end and mobile application development while collaborating across the stack. You’ll play a key role in creating high-quality, responsive interfaces using React Native, while working with our back-end team to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow.

This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys crafting exceptional user experiences and wants to expand their capabilities in modern cloud and AI technologies.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Expo
  • Build polished, performant UIs using TypeScript, Tamagui, and Tailwind CSS
  • Implement routing and navigation with React Navigation
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end services in C#/.NET and Azure
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to design and consume RESTful APIs
  • Optimize app performance for speed, latency, and responsiveness across platforms
  • Implement and monitor observability tools to track app performance, reliability, and usage metrics (e.g., error logging, latency dashboards, crash analytics, and user engagement data)
  • Manage mobile application deployment via App Store Connect and Google Play Console SDKs
  • Ensure strong application performance, accessibility, and responsiveness
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design discussions
  • Duties are subject to change as projects fluctuate
  • Required to work a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. 2 days a week may be worked remotely or in the office, whichever is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in front-end or mobile application development
  • Proficiency in React Native and TypeScript
  • Experience deploying apps through App Store Connect and Google Play Console
  • Familiarity with modern UI frameworks (Tamagui, Tailwind CSS, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of C#/.NET and Azure for API integration and deployment
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication flows, and data handling
  • Experience analyzing and improving app performance (latency, load times, and rendering efficiency)
  • Familiarity with app observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Firebase Performance, Azure Application Insights, or similar platforms)
  • Proven skills in debugging, optimization, and testing across mobile platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with AI/ML APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face)
  • Awareness of TensorFlow Lite or PyTorch Mobile for on-device inference
  • Understanding of secure, HIPAA-conscious application design
  • Interest in healthtech, AI-driven UX, or wellness applications

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position

  • Ability to access input and retrieves information from a computer to produce typed copy
  • Capacity to communicate adequately, in person or via telephone, in a manner, which can be understood by those with whom the Client Support Specialist is speaking
  • Capability of dialing or otherwise using a telephone to place and receive telephone calls
  • Willingness and capacity to sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time
  • Capacity to pick up, leaf through and read books and files and other materials
  • Ability to reach forward, up, down and to the side in order to move equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to interact cohesively with co-workers, clients, vendors and partner companies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with competing deadlines and changing priorities
  • Willingness and ability to maintain regular attendance for normally scheduled hours, to work overtime and to be flexible to work other shifts as necessary (i.e., potential weekend schedule)

The key physical requirements for this position include the ability to move freely through an office environment. Use of standard office equipment including PCs, Fax, Copiers, and Phone Systems.

Position Details:

Position Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in-office. 2 days a week remote or in-office)

Position Status: Full-Time/Exempt

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Depending on Experience
